Cosin Solar Successfully Assembles Heliostats for Two CSP Projects in Xinjiang

Cosin Solar, a leading renewable energy company, has achieved a major milestone in the construction of two concentrated solar power (CSP) projects in Xinjiang, China. On January 24th, the first set of heliostats for the 100MW CT CSP project of the POWERCHINA Turpan Tuokexun CSP + PV Hybrid Project was successfully assembled. Four days later, on January 28th, the first set of heliostats for the 100MW CT CSP Project of the SPIC Xinjiang Turpan Shanshan Qiketai CSP + PV Hybrid Project was also successfully assembled.

The POWERCHINA Turpan Tuokexun CSP + PV Hybrid Project is located in Tuokexun County, Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is invested by POWERCHINA RENEWABLE ENERGY CO., LTD. and has a total installed capacity of 1GW, including 900MW PV and 100MW CT CSP. The 100MW CT CSP project, which features an 8-hour molten salt storage system, utilizes the molten salt tower CSP technology developed by Cosin Solar.

Similarly, the SPIC Xinjiang Turpan Shanshan Qiketai CSP + PV Hybrid Project is located in Qiketai Town, Shanshan County, Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is invested by State Power Investment Corporation Henan Electric Power Co., LTD and also has a total installed capacity of 1GW, including 900MW PV and 100MW CT CSP. The project also adopts the molten salt tower CSP technology developed by Cosin Solar.

The construction of these two CSP projects, along with another project in Turpan City, is progressing well despite the challenging weather conditions. The project teams have managed to catch up with the schedule and achieve milestone progress, ensuring that precious time is saved for future work. Cosin Solar remains committed to the construction of “CT CSP energy storage+” hybrid benchmarking projects and will continue to promote the development of various projects.

With the successful assembly of the heliostats, Cosin Solar has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to providing clean and sustainable energy solutions. By harnessing the power of concentrated solar energy, these projects will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the transition towards a more sustainable future.
