Asheville’s NOAA Center Secures $85m Funding to Drive Climate Change Advancements



An $85 million investment has been announced to address climate change in Asheville. On Tuesday, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves visited Asheville to make this announcement.

The funding will be utilized to support the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) efforts in delivering more modernized products and services to enhance climate data at its center in Asheville.

The Industry Proving Grounds Program, an initiative by NOAA, will play a crucial role in promoting actionable climate information. This program will specifically focus on three key industries: finance and reinsurance, retail, and architecture and engineering.
