A window of hope

Seven days ago these little green plants were seeds.

• Seed planter tray, day 6 after planting – a micro nursery

Today, tiny plants now, they sit inside beside the house window to get the sun, after being transplanted yesterday from a micro nursery planter tray.

Keeping an eye on things from outside the window, especially the chook food in her feeder, is Penny the Chook.

• The seed planter tray is empty and the tiny plants have been transplanted into pots, containers

Other little plants are in pot plants on the deck outside the house.

• Bee mix seeds packet

All the plants feed bees: Borage, Rocket, Buckwheat, Fennel and Brassica.

Sow these in Autumn or Winter; Autumn in Sydney now and the seeds are thriving in their new life.

Sow direct in the garden or pots.  Cover seed with 4 mm of of soil or broadcast and keep moist. (Notice the small spray container of water ready to spray on the plants morning and evening.)

• Cost for two packets of seeds: $13.80 including postage from Taree in NSW to Sydney in NSW

Seed are from Greenpatch Organic Seeds at Taree, New South Wales.

The seeds are ‘untreated, non-hybrid, non genetically modified, open pollinated seeds.  Certified organic.” This mix of seeds is called, “Bee Mix” as each attracts and feeds bees.

When I show my love for Earth, as I seek to do each day, something grows in me, too – simplicity, hope.
